SENTINEL MESSENGER: THE VERSATILE DROID FOR CONVERGENCE. DAY 5 – APHRA, GRIEVOUS, AND ALL THE KIDS!

When I first started playing Battlefront 2, the video game from EA back in late 2017, my main takeaway from the story line was how Iden Versio went from a strong Inferno Squad Leader to a member of the Resistance and ultimately the one who helped discover a weakness in the Dreadnaught. The Rebels were able to use this information to blow it up at the beginning of The Last Jedi and deal a blow to the First Order. The second major takeaway was the Emperor’s mission of Operation: Cinder. Seeing this droid walk up to Admiral Versio aboard his ship and then see the Emperor’s face in it after death was one of those cool “woah” moments that reminds you of the power the Emperor held. Even in death he can carry out orders that would mold the future of the Star Wars Universe. While limited in his role in the game he is also spotted in the comic book series as well. In Star Wars Destiny this character is a character that gives villain decks so many options and opens play to cards that normally would not see play or that someone may find difficult to play in old school Destiny. We are seeing multiple 3 wide decks, a 4 wide deck, and there are even decks now being built to break to golden rule: You need to have a 4 dice start. Darth Vader helped break this model last set and the trend seems to possibly be Continue Reading

RED VILLAIN: HOW YOU DOIN?

With Convergence a full week in now there are all kinds of decks being made and toyed with to find those crucial cards that will make the deck pop. In our latest weekly podcast, Platform joined the crew to talk about Red Villain and it’s place in the Convergence meta. There are just so many good cards with this set that benefit Red in general, but especially Red Villain. In this article I want to give you my personal Top 10 red Convergence cards from 10 to 1 with an explanation of why cards are where they are ranked. My primary focus is how strong the individual card is to a deck. Does the card make a deck powerful or does it simply compliment a good deck already. So let’s jump right in. 10. Rout Any 1 cost removal is decent, but what we want in good removal is a card that can remove any dice. A card like Forsaken for Blue is amazing because it’s a 0 cost, but it does have the limitation of a die showing a value of 2 or below. This card doesn’t have that limitation to it but requires you to have at least 3 dice in your pool. The really cool part about the card is “For EVERY three”. This means decks that run tons of supports or a Phasma deck that can get 6 dice out Turn 1 could remove ANY two dice. Now this card is starting to get real interesting. Continue Reading
